Baltimore, Maryland based Middle Eastern Dance Artist Bastet has been studying and performing what is popularly known as bellydance for more than six years.

Bastet has enjoyed completing several workshops given by bellydance superstar Suhaila Salimpour.
She also has studied Turkish/Romany dance with Artemis,
American Tribal Style dance with Lisa Zahiya,
Raqs Sharqi with Driana Kai,
and Cabaret with Egyptian Sun Productions.In Bastet's own performances and classes, she uses the foundation of strong basic techniques to help open up the body, restore energy and build confidence, while celebrating the vitality of a woman's spirit. She delights in designing and constructing her own costumes and at times mixes dance music, too. Bastet currently serves as talent coordinator for The Desert Café (owned and operated by Blake Wollman) in Mt. Washington which offers authentic Mediterranean cuisine in a casual and comfortable setting. She also performs there regularly on Saturday evenings. Bastet is available to provide family-friendly entertainment for birthday/anniversary parties, festivals, restaurants, weddings, and other co-ed functions. |
